Our sensors rely on patterned, chemically responsive nanomaterial alignment layers that affect the orientation of nematic liquid crystals in direct contact with the nanomaterials’ surface similar to alignment layers commonly used in liquid crystal display (LCD) devices.
Our company started from research developed at the Liquid Crystal Institute at Kent State University in Kent (Ohio) USA.
